Unless we go by way of Birmingham it'll be difficult to make a 300-miler out of this one, but it won't be a simple motorway dash either. We don't go eastwards often so I'll try to find some flowing and scenic ways through Hampshire and West Sussex with a coffee stop somewhere along the way before arriving at Portsmouth. If you've not been up the Tower yet you're in for a treat, especially if visibility is good on the day; the views are stunning! And if you're not too keen on heights then Gunwharf Quay will keep you occupied whilst the rest of us feast our eyes. Weather permitting we'll head along to Eastney and the burger van on the beach overlooking the entrance to Langstone Harbour, and if the gods are not kind to us then I'm sure we can find acceptable food at Gunwharf. £7.25 per person entrance fee (£6.50 for wrinklies) and if we muster more than 15 then we can sort out a group visit, so if you're interested in this ride and are prepared to commit yourself then either post a reply here or email me direct (jrspinks@hotmail.com). Motorcycle parking is apparently free at Gunwharf; bonus!
